Exterior Painting
Siding, trim, fascia, soffits and front doors, prepped and painted for Colorado's high-altitude sun and big temperature swings.
Done right the first time
Out here, the sun is stronger, the air is drier and temperatures can swing hard from day to night. That's rough on exterior paint, especially on south and west faces. A good exterior job starts with honest prep: washing, scraping, sanding, caulking and priming bare spots, so the new coat has something solid to bond to.
Signs it's time
- Peeling, flaking or chalky paint, especially on south and west sides
- Faded trim and front doors
- Open joints and cracked caulk around windows and trim
- Bare or graying wood on fascia and trim boards
- An HOA notice, or a color change you've been putting off
- Prepping the house to sell

Where
Exterior Painting: common questions
When is exterior painting season here?
Generally late spring through early fall, when daytime and overnight temperatures stay within the paint manufacturer's range. We watch the forecast and schedule around cold snaps and storms.
Do I need HOA approval first?
In many Douglas County neighborhoods, yes, especially for a color change. Read our guide on getting paint colors approved.
Do you repair rotted wood?
Small areas can often be filled or patched as part of prep. Bigger rot repairs may need a carpenter first. We'll tell you honestly what we see.
