Cabinet Refinishing
New-looking kitchen and bath cabinets without tearing them out. Proper degreasing, sanding, bonding primer and a sprayed finish that's built to handle daily use.
Done right the first time
Cabinet refinishing is one of the specialties at Rock's Finest Finishes, and it's the job where cutting corners shows the fastest. A brushed-on coat over greasy, glossy cabinets will chip within months. We take the slow route: doors and drawer fronts off, everything cleaned and scuffed, a primer made to grab slick surfaces, and a hard-wearing finish laid on smooth.
Signs it's time
- Orange or honey oak that dates the whole kitchen
- Worn finish around handles, sink bases and the trash pull-out
- Solid cabinet boxes you don't want to pay to replace
- A remodel budget better spent on counters, backsplash or hardware
- Bathroom vanities that don't match the rest of the house
- Getting the house ready to list

Where
Cabinet Refinishing: common questions
How long does cabinet refinishing take?
A typical kitchen runs about a week, from removal to reinstall, because primer and finish coats need proper dry and cure time. Your quote will give a realistic timeline for your kitchen.
Will the wood grain show through?
On open-grain wood like oak, you may see some grain texture under paint. If you want a completely smooth look, grain filling can be added. We'll talk through it at the estimate.
Can I use my kitchen during the work?
Mostly, yes. The kitchen is masked off, but we can usually keep the fridge and sink usable. We'll plan it with you.
How do I take care of refinished cabinets?
Go easy for the first few weeks while the finish fully cures, and then clean with a soft cloth and mild soap. Skip harsh degreasers and scrub pads.
