Interior Doors & Trim

Baseboards, casing, crown, railings and interior doors, sanded, caulked and finished smooth. It's the detail work that makes a whole room look sharp.

The short version

Done right the first time

Freshly painted walls next to scuffed, yellowed trim still look tired. Trim and doors take a beating from vacuums, kids, pets and daily traffic, and they're the first thing people touch. We give them the full treatment: clean, sand, fill, caulk every gap, and finish with a durable urethane made for high-contact surfaces.

Signs it's time

  • Scuffed baseboards and chipped door edges
  • Gaps between trim and walls
  • Stained or orange wood trim you want painted white or a modern color
  • Yellowed oil-based trim
  • Dated six-panel doors that need a refresh
  • Worn stair railings and spindles

How it works

Our process

  1. Quote

We count doors, measure trim runs and agree on color and sheen in writing.

  2. Protect

Floors, carpets and walls masked tight to the trim line.

  3. Prep

Clean, sand, fill nail holes and caulk gaps. Bonding primer goes on stained or oil-painted trim.

  4. Finish

Smooth urethane finish coats, with doors done on both faces and edges.

  5. Walk-through

Hardware back on and a final walk-through with you.

FAQ

Interior Doors & Trim: common questions

Can you paint over stained wood trim?

Yes. After cleaning and sanding, a bonding primer goes on first so the paint sticks and wood tannins don't bleed through.

What sheen is best for trim?

Satin or semi-gloss. They're tougher and easier to wipe down than wall sheens, and the slight contrast makes the trim stand out.

Do you paint doors on site or take them off?

It depends on the door and the finish you want. We'll recommend the best approach for your doors at the estimate.
